Module 1
Introduction to aviation medicine
This module provides an overview of common medical issues that occur during flights and the unique challenges of managing them in a confined cabin environment. Students will understand the responsibilities of cabin crew in medical care, including the legal and ethical boundaries of assisting passengers.
Module 2
Basic life support (bls) FUndamentals
Students will learn how to recognize medical emergencies quickly and apply the essential steps of Basic Life Support. The module covers airway management, breathing and circulation assessment, and CPR techniques tailored for adults, children, and infants.
Module 3
Use of emergency equipment
This module familiarizes students with the emergency medical equipment available onboard. Training includes the safe use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), oxygen bottles, and the contents of standard medical kits to ensure effective response during emergencies.
Module 4
in-flight medical emergencies
Students will be trained to manage a range of medical conditions that may arise inflight, including hypoxia, fainting, seizures, allergic reactions, cardiac arrest, gastrointestinal distress, dehydration, and psychological episodes such as panic attacks. Emphasis is placed on calm and efficient care.
Module 5
crew coordination & medical protocols
This module highlights the importance of teamwork in handling medical events. Students will practice effective communication with the flight deck, ground-based medical professionals, and fellow crew members, as well as proper documentation and incident reporting.
Module 6
Practical drills and scenario-based training
The final module allows students to put theory into practice through hands-on exercises. CPR, AED use, and oxygen administration are practiced in simulated scenarios that replicate inflight medical emergencies, ensuring students are confident and prepared for real-life situations.
